Did I mention that the weather was amazing?

After Manley Common I headed into Delamere Forest. I have many childhood memories of Delamere. We would sometimes drive out there with my Granddad, sit at the picnic tables and fry sausages on his camping stove. It was also a common visiting place with the Cubs and the Scouts given it’s proximity to Liverpool. I stopped for a brief lunch with the hope of having something more (perhaps a cuppa) from any cafes I came across later.

In the pines, in the pines, where the sun don’t every shine…

There is a cafe on the edge of the forest but I forgot to take the turning and, besides, the guidebook mentioned a better place a little further on. Sadly, the “other place” was closed so I was of out into open country without a cup of tea.
