I bought this in a station bakery on the way home. It was described as a Kintoki Bean Bun. I’ve looked this up and nothing resembling the above comes up. It was basically a sweet bean bun but, rather than having the red beans mashed up into a paste which is put into the centre, the softened beans have been placed into the mixture. I think the rising of the dough forces the beans towards the outside of the bun. It was very nice and I’ll try and keep an eye out for these in the future.
