One of the attractions of coming back to Japan is the renewed opportunities to try some of the weird and wonderful cakes that are available. So this series has been revived. I’m not sure how regular it will be as eating cake all of the time might be okay if you’re a tourist but you can’t do that all year round.

So last Friday I picked up this delight. It is a sweet puff pastry twist dipped into chocolate at each end. The label had a German flag on it but I can’t say I’ve seen anything like this there. Then again maybe it was a Belgian flag on it’s side. I have been to Belgium (for a couple of days) and I have to say I was more interested in the beer than the cakes.
